With over 40 years of global experience in the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors, Abid is recognized as a compassionate, results-driven leader who believes that anything is achievable through innovation, strategy, and collaboration.

Throughout his distinguished career, Abid has led strategic initiatives for several major organizations. Most recently, he served as Group Chief Executive Officer of Assets Group, based in Doha, Qatar. Prior to that, he was CEO – AMEA for Dream Hotel Group, where he guided the company’s international business operations, and CEO of Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, where he oversaw brand strategy, service excellence, and global expansion.

Abid has successfully navigated both brand management and asset ownership roles, allowing him to intimately understand and address the challenges facing the hospitality industry. His strategic acumen and innovative drive have been instrumental in the launch and growth of multiple hospitality brands around the world.

An engaged and respected voice in the industry, Abid frequently speaks at global conferences and serves as an advisor to hospitality organizations worldwide. His commitment to excellence and passion for developing people and brands continue to shape the future of the tourism and hospitality landscape. He received an honorary Doctor of Business Administration in International Hotel & Tourism Management from Johnson & Wales University. He holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, San Diego.
