Abu Bakar is currently the Chief Executive Officer of IT Impact Consulting based out of NJ, USA. Mr. Bakar primary focus is on large scale transformations and turnarounds especially in Nation Building, Sovereign AI and Healthcare. Abu Bakar most recently was the Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), where he is leading national efforts to elevate Pakistan into a globally competitive digital economy. With over 24 years of international experience his career spans high-growth sectors including technology, healthcare, retail, and venture capital across the U.S. and beyond. He also served as President of OPEN Global, a leading organization of Pakistani entrepreneurs with 15 chapters across 4 continents, he actively promoted entrepreneurship and international cooperation.
Before joining PSEB, Mr. Bakar served as Chief Information and Digital Officer at Summit Health, where he oversaw its digital transformation and scaled revenues from $300 million to $3 billion, culminating in an $8.9 billion acquisition by Walgreens/VillageMD. He has also held CIO roles at leading global firms, served as an operating partner at a Boston-based venture capital firm, and led OPEN Global—a network of Pakistani entrepreneurs with a presence across four continents.
